Do I Even Remember How to Blog?

Hello loved ones! Remember me? I know you all have been stalking me because I get your hate mail asking me why I haven't been updating. I could lie and tell you the dog ate my camera but the honest truth is I lost interest. Now, 2008 is approaching and I have made my new year's resolution list. Keeping up the blog is right after eat less and exercise more. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. Have a happy new year. Check back for Miller Time updates.

Costa Rica

I know everyone is just waiting on pins and needles to see the pictures from our adventures in paradise. I can't wait myself. We have had a great time in Costa Rica, despite a lot of rain. The sun did come out occasionally and Rosie and I were able to sun ourselves on the beach for a couple of hours. But just like any good vacation it will be nice to be home again. I can't wait to wrap my arms around my darlings boys and give them lots of kisses. I even miss my dogs. Now you know I am crazy and homesick. Check back for the picts.

Weekend Fun

Dustin and I celebrated our 29th birthdays this weekend. We are 6 days apart. We had dinner at Sun & Moon cafe which is always interesting (those of you who frequent the place will understand why). Thanks to Buddy for giving us such wonderful gifts. I booted Dustin out of the bed last night so I could sleep with Fabio. He slept in the garage with the filly.

I don't have a picture for it yet because I am a bad wife. But Saturday Dustin raced in his first Cross race. It is like a mountin bike race only the bikes are a cross btwn mountain and road. Our friend Bart races and taught Dustin a few tricks for his first race. Dust did a great job. Friends Vic and Scotty J came out to race as well. Bart was maybe more proud that I because he is the one that took all the pictures. Check out the Bart Gillespie link on my page to see one. If it doesn't work then try http://www.bartmangbikestowork.blogspot.com/

Dustin's mom got the surprise of her life on Saturday. Click on the picture to enlarge it and see how happy she looks. Her ex-husband (yes, I said ex) surprised her with this adorable orange Porsche Boxter. There were only 250 made and only 2 in Utah. For those of you who know the Miller Family dynamics this isn't so bizarre for Bob to buy this for his ex-wife. For those of you who can't comprehend it just know that Bob and Janene have a wonderful relationship and both are very happly married to wonderful people. In fact Bob's wife, Carol, has the identical car. How funny that the only 2 people who have been married to Bob have the only two orange Porches in Utah.

Dane got to spend Saturday night at Grandpa Bob and Carol's house with his cousin Jackson and the Miller Paving office cat Porsche. Oh what fun they had. Then, Porsche got to come to our house to spend the night on Sunday. We sure had fun playing with her. She is such a tolerant cat. Dane just packs her around with him and teases her. I think the teasing bothered Dustin and myself more than the cat. As I type this she is attacking my fingers. She sure is a curious thing. The dogs got a glimpse of her and I could tell they didn't want to be friends. So we were very careful to keep them seperate.

Halloween Pictures

Here are the pictures of our neighborhood Halloween Party. Enjoy! I know we did!

Emigration Oaks Halloween Party

I just want to blog really quick about our first ever Emigration Oaks Halloween Party. We have the funnest neighborhood ever!! About 50 people came out to enjoy the wagon ride trick-or-treating and delicious food. The kids looked so cute in their costumes. Rosie and Bart took all the pictures so when I get them I will set up a slide show. Happy Halloween!

Three Weeks In Review

Well, the last time I blogged was the first day of our family vacation in Cali. Since then I have been way to busy to do anything but get through the day and fall into bed exhausted. It has been a fun few weeks though and I will attempt to share it with you now in my Three Weeks in Review...

This picture is from the Scarecrow Festival at Thanksgiving Point. We met a bunch of friends there. The kids had a great time playing on all the jumping things and getting their faces painted. I love that Cannon S. has his finger up his nose. Too funny.

My youngest bro Cannon left for his mission last week. I was lucky enough to host the whole fam for a week while we got Cannon ready to go. I loved having a full house and many hands to help with kids. While he wrote and re-wrote his talk, one hundred times, the rest of us planned his farewell party. Thanks to Kathy Kjar for hosting all of our friends and family for this special day. Here is Cannon sitting next to his Halloween missionary. I am very excited for Cannon to embark on this amazing adventure. I know he will be a great missionary and grow immensly. The boys and I, however, will be lonely. Cannon has been living with us for the last couple of months and it has been a lot of fun. He has also been my dog walker and it has been really nice not having to worry about the dogs. We will miss you.

Here are the boys is full costume at Buddy and Angie's Halloween Party. We had a great time. It is so fun to see what costumes people will come up with. That party was Friday night and Saturday night I got to go out with some girlfrieds for dinner and to see Thriller. It was a great show and a very fun night out. Thanks Natalie for putting it together.

So Cal Vaca!

Our family trip to southern California was awesome. The weather was great and so was the company. It was so fun to be together as a family. We always have a great time together. Dane loved that he had his grandma's undivided attention. One day we asked him what he wanted to do thinking he would want to go to the beach or something but instead he said, "I just want to stay home with my grandma and do nothing". My parents went all out for this trip. We did family pictures, took surfing lessons, went to a San Diego Chargers football game, and a kayaking adventure. Thanks mom and dad for the wonderful trip. We love you! Slide show to come when I get all the other pictures from my siblings.

Oh the Joy.....

...of being a pet owner. It is 11:17 pm and I am sitting here at the computer wasting time until I can go pick up Bigs and Nattie from the Emergency Vet Hospital. Why you ask? Well, it is a funny story (or, at least I think we will laugh about this later when Dustin and I aren't exhausted from running around at 100 miles an hour). When did life get so crazy? For a brief moment tonight I wanted to go back in time when it was just myself and Dustin. No dogs, no kids. Life was good back then. It is good now, too. Just for different reasons. But without dogs or kids why would anyone choose to stay up all night? Which brings me to why I am staying up instead of getting a good night sleep. Bigs and Nattie tried to fight a porcupine at about 7:00 pm this evening. The porcupine won. Both dogs had easily 100 quills in and around their mouths. My wonderful neighbors, Tom & Cricket, and myself pulled 98% of the quills out with pliers but there were still a few difficult ones stuck in their gums that required more assistance. So off to the pet ER we go. I chose to take them since both boys were in bed and Dustin had work to do at the house. I made it all the way to 700 E. and 1300 S. before Dustin called me with a hysterical baby that wouldn't take a bottle or binky. So back home I went. Dustin then took the dogs to the ER and waited for about an hour to be seen by the Doctor who said this was a minor case and we did a "helluva" getting most of the quills out. They wouldn't have to be sedated but the procedure would take about an hour to get the rest of them out. I asked if they would just keep the dogs overnight but they said there was no reason to. I guess they have no compassion for sleep-deprived parents wanting to have a chance at a decent night sleep. So Dustin came home and I get to go back and pick the girls up. So I wait. The icing on the cake will be if Ian wakes up as soon as I leave. Oh the joy.....

Taco Tuesday

We had a few friends over for Taco Tuesday. The company was great and the food was delicious. I really enjoy having people over and the more parties we have the better they get. Jed got a new jeep and he let Dustin take it wheelin' up a hill in our side yard. The hill is steeper (is that even a word?) in person than it looks in the picture. Thanks to everyone who made taco tuesday a success.

Porcupine Quills

Living up Emigration Canyon we have had the opportunity to encounter a variety of animals. We have had quite a few moose and deer in our yard. We have seen a badger while walking the dogs. And our neighbors have even seen a turkey vulture and a bobcat. But last night we had a cute little porcupine eating acorns right next to our driveway. We were suspicious of one being somewhere in the yard because Bigs came home one morning with 2 quills stuck in her cheeks. Dustin pulled them out with pliers. Then, Nattie spent the better part of one evening hanging out in the scrub oak. Dustin went to investigate what she was doing and found our friend. The porcupine didn't even care that Nattie was hanging around. And it didn't mind that we were shining a light on it and taking pictures. To quote Dane, "We are so lucky to have all these special animals to look at." The other picture is of Dane's play-doh porcupines he made.

New York City Baby!!

Dustin and I were able to sneak away for a long weekend in NYC with friends Kristen and Russell. We had a great time going to the US Open, Yankee's game, Broadway show, Central Park, shopping, etc... Thank you mom and dad from coming in town to watch the boys. We really appreciate it.

4 Years Old vs. 4 Months Old

Dane is 4 years old and started preschool at CCNS. He loves school and his teacher Mrs. Stephanie. They get to do so many fun things like field trips to go fishing and to Kennecott Copper Mine. I can't believe he is old enough to go to school. Dane is such a good boy and a great big brother to Ian who is now 4 months old. He is such a good baby and is happy almost all of the time. He is getting so big and loves his "johnny jumper", rolling over, and laughing at Dane. We are so blessed to have 2 wonderful boys.

Slip-n-Slide BBQ

Thanks Rosie and Bart for having us over for a fun night of slip-n-slide and food.
We had a great time and the smore's were delicious. Here's to a fun summer hanging with friends!!

Star Valley Wyoming

We had such a great time in Star Valley for the fair and family reunions. It was so fun to get together with family from both sides. Thanks to Grandma and Richard for hosting us at their house. And thanks to everyone for making the reunion parties so fun with great food and games. Enjoy the slide show!

Trying to Windsurf Freemont Lake

One afternoon the wind and rain came up fast and strong. Dustin and Bob hurried to rig a windsurfer. It was a futile attempt. By the time Dustin got on the water the wind had died some and he was never able to get up. A for effort though Dust! Plus, now you know how to rig a sail.

Hiking in the Wind Rivers

Megan, Colby and myself got to sneak away for a hike one morning. We ended up at a beautiful lookout at the lakes below. It was so fun to get out and exercise in the beautiful mountains. Dustin watched the kids so I could go.

Fishin' & Boatin'

Dane loves driving the boat with dad. He even gets to steer by himself. All the kids had fun fishing off the dock. Grandpa Bob put up a big cash prize if anyone caught a fish. But the fish weren't biting thid weekend. Dane did get attatched to a lobster tail we had for dinner. It stayed in the fridge for acouple of days and Dane would take it out to play with.

Everybody's Surfin' Now

The whole Miller fam and some friends spent the 24th in Pinedale. Everyone had a great time surfing behind Matt and Jen's new boat.
Surf's up for Dustin, Whitney, Russell and Kristen.

SpiderMan vs. Knight in Shining Armor

Dane wants to thank everyone for all the great birthday presents. And I want to thank all of you too because exploring all the toys kept him busy all day today. He finally crashed while playing with his spider-man motorcycles. He loved putting on the amor and fighting dragons with Bigs as his noble steed (who was camera shy) and running around with the spider-man goggles and fins. We love you all.

Bouncin' Off the Walls Birthday

Dane had a great 4th birthday party at Bouncin' Off the walls. Thanks to everyone who came and made his party great!

Pinedale Wyoming

We had a blast at Dustin's parents cabin in Wyoming July 8-9. It was a quick trip but very fun. Dane loved trying on the wakeboard and playing around. But when asked if he wanted to try it behind the boat he would say, "Not today. Maybe tomorrow when I am older." Too funny. And isn't Dustin a beautiful skier?
