Easter was late but worth the wait....

Sunday Dustin's mom and Skip had their annual Easter Party. We didn't do it on the real Easter in March because the weather was yucky. This is such a fun family tradition. Skip is into Survivor and patterns his Easter Egg Hunts after the crazy reality show. Every year the hunt is different. This year we had to do a series of relay races, and put a puzzle together that ended up being our map to the eggs that had the winning prize. Dustin and I were the grand winner's of $100! Even the little kids had their own races with prizes. Skip is way creative with his egg hunts and Janene makes a delicious spread for us to gorge ourselves on. What a wonderful Sunday!

The Good and Bad of Today

The GOOD of today was that Dane learned how to ride a two-wheeler. I went to walk the dogs for 30 minutes and I came back to Dane riding his bike . My Dad and brother Adam taught him. He was so excited I could barely get him to come inside for dinner. He said it is his new favorite thing to do and that he is going to get really strong legs and race his dad when he gets home. Way to go Dane!

The BAD of today was when Ian woke up from his morning nap with blisters on his lips. A quick trip to the doctor confirmed Hand,Foot & Mouth Disease. If you have never had experience with this virus it is miserable for the person who has it and for the person who has to take care of them. The sores are on Ian's lips and inside his mouth. It hurts him to suck on his binki and his bottle which makes him really frustrated because he loves both of those things. All I can say is thank goodness for Tylenol, Motrin and Benedryl. I hate when my kids are sick. It is no fun to see them miserable. Another BAD about this weekend is that Dustin is in Las Vegas at a desert race so I am on my own to take care of everything.

Fun Times in Sunny San Diego

The boy's and I had a great time in San Diego over the last week. The weather was sunny and 60. Chilly at times. It was also very relaxing (even with the kids). I love staying at my parent's house. We worked all our activities around nap times and ate at home to avoid taking kids to restaurants. I loved it and so did the boys. My long-time friend Natalie and her 18 month-old Lola came as well. It was fun to have them along and join in the fun. We packed quite a bit into the week. We were able to visit my friend Autumn that I haven't seen in about 5 years. She now has 4 beautiful children. They have a fun backyard and the kids were instant friends. It was so good to see her and reminise about the fun times we had together living in Memphis, TN. Our other activities included going to the zoo, aquarium, seal beach, miniature golfing, dog beach and Lego Land. Dane loved Lego Land and all the rides. Even the one grandpa made him go on that he didn't want to. But if you ask Dane what he liked best about San Diego he says "just playing with my grandma". My mom watched the kids one morning so Nat and I could go shopping in Del Mar. What a treat to be able to shop without kids. We had fun looking in the little boutiques and found some good buys. I can't believe we came home to snow! If it was possible I would have extended my stay another week. Thanks mom and dad for having us out for a great time. We love spending time with you both and can't wait for our next visit.
